Talent Bios
Christopher M. Allport, tenor, has been performing in major stage venues, television and feature films since the age of seven. Christopher’s Cabaret Collective is made up of some of the finest musicians in the city, of whom he is proud to share with local audiences. As a featured or headlining vocalist, Christopher’s credits include the Disney American Teacher Awards (Pantages Theater), The People’s Choice Awards (Paramount Studios), Barbra Streisand’s Timeless (Staples Center Los Angeles), Pasadena Symphony’s Romeo and Juliet (Pasadena Civic Auditorium), Los Angeles Philharmonic’s production of Wellington’s Victory March (Hollwood Bowl). This summer, Christopher will star in a review of Phantom of the Opera, at Teatro San Gallo in Venice, Italy. He has sung on such film soundtracks as Pirates of the Caribbean 3, Mr. Holland’s Opus, The Mighty Ducks and Steven Spielberg’s epic Hook. He has also been the character voice of Casper the Friendly Ghost, Tootles the Lost Boy (Peter Pan & the Pirates) as well as one of the voices of Binx the Cat in Disney’s Hocus Pocus. Christopher’s performances have been well received on three continents: America, Africa and Europe. He premiered the Ubi Caritas of renowned chorale composer Morten Lauridsen. As an actor, Christopher lit up the stage once again in New York City, starring as dashing, bohemian Prince Florizel in Shakespeare’s Winter’s Tale. Recently Christopher recorded a new musical entitled House of Finnigan, by Steve Kopandy, Bonnie Janofsky & Bill Rich. When Chris isn’t singing, he loves spending time with his most supportive parents and grandparents and enjoys road biking and restoring antique cars.
Sarah Block is delighted to join the Chris M. Allport Cabaret Collective for the Collective's Debut at Sterling's Upstairs at Vitello's. A natural and energetic talent, Sarah has performed in numerous musicals.
Aurelien
Eulert, pianist, is an active soloist and collaborative performer in the United
States and all over Europe. Born and raised in Alsace, France, Aurelien
entered the Conservatoire National de Musique de Strasbourg at age 9. Offered a
full scholarship and a teaching assistantship at Syracuse University’s Setnor
School of Music, NY, Aurelien left France to pursue his Master’s of Music in
Piano Performance in the studio of Fred Karpoff. After his graduation from the
program, Aurelien moved to California to continue his education in the studio
of Kevin Fitz-Gerald at the Thornton School of Music at the University of Southern
California. Aurelien has also enjoyed the teaching and influence of
renowned artists such as Jon Nakamatsu, Christopher O’Riley, Peter Serkin, Leon
Fleisher and Earl Wild.
In
2002 he founded Duo Aura with flutist Razika Djoudi, which has toured extensively
in France, Germany and the US. He has held a collaborative pianist position at
the French flute summer festival Flutissimo since its creation in 2005, where
he works and performs with Flute principals of Europe’s finest orchestras and
soloists like Michel Debost, Patrick Gallois, Andras Adorjan or Pierre-Yves
Artaud. Last October, Aurelien was invited to perform a series of flute and
piano recitals in Oklahoma and Texas, touring for a week of performances from
Tulsa and Oklahoma City to Dallas. At Thornton, he is currently appointed
studio pianist in the studio of James Walker.
Aurelien
has had extensive experience with the vocal repertoire, having coached and
performed with singers for many years. He has worked with eminent teachers and
performers such as Phyllis Curtin, Dawn Upshaw, Stephanie Blythe, Stephen
Smith, Elizabeth Hynes and Eric Halfvarson, performs regularly with
international opera star Rod Gilfry, and has also served as musical director
for the Chamber Opera of USC program since 2008. Aurelien has also performed
many times as orchestral piano and celesta player in various professional and
university orchestras, under the baton of conductors such as Stefan Asbury,
Carl St-Clair and internationally acclaimed film composer John Williams. Most
recent engagements include performances with the Tanglewood Music Center
Orchestra, the Downey Symphony and the Burbank Philharmonic.
Aurelien
also records as a studio pianist for movie soundtracks, and has been featured
on more than twenty different films. His performances at Thornton have often
been featured on the Greater Los Angeles area radio station KUSC. After
completing his Graduate Certificate in Piano Performance at Thornton, Aurelien
started his Doctor of Musical Arts degree, majoring in Keyboard Collaborative
Arts, and was awarded a full scholarship and a Teaching Assistant position.
This
summer, Aurelien attended the Tanglewood Music Center festival as a piano
fellow and performed numerous concerts at Seiji Ozawa Hall, notably a Bach Cantata
on organ under John Harbison and Copland’s Third Symphony under Robert Spano.
He also worked as rehearsal pianist for the American premiere of Elliott
Carter’s new work “What Are Years” and played in the pit for Oliver Knussen’s
opera “Where the Wild Things Are”.
Following
the encouraging success of his debut as musical director and band leader at the
2010 Gala Concert last January, Aurelien is thrilled to be part of the newest
Allport Productions Cabaret Collective project!
Drummer, percussionist, arranger, composer and producer, Emiliano Almeida, has achieved an extraordinarily successful career internationally as a recording artist and a live performer. From Buenos Aires, Argentina, he is regarded as one of the most accomplished musician/drummer/percussionist's of his generation. He has perfored with acclaimed artists in national and international music scene, including Sony Play Station video game "Spyro", Ricky Martin's "Living la Vida Loca" world tour video, and the Grammy Awarded Album "Bajo Fondo Tango Club". Mr Almeida has been featured on Sony, Warner, Universal, and Polygram labels. His unique style and sound come from a vast knowledge of Latin American folkloric instruments and rhythms, combined with his specialization in urban music, popular grooves, and electronic music. A self-contained producing-artist, he won the Coachella Music Awards for Best Latin Pop Production/Band with the album "Que Tiene la Vida" (Desert Music 2004) by Fronteras. His Grammy nominated, international live performances range from acclaimed theater venues and shows at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza. Mr. Almeida has even music directed for Hillary Duff and Taylor Hicks American Idol shows.
OLIVER STEINBERG (Bass) received his muscial training from legendary bassist Carol Kaye. Oliver has worked with Lyle Lovett, Rickie lee Jones, H.R. from Bad Brains, Shrimp Louis Foot cream, Brent Crayon and many others.
