Many performers just need a safe, professional, affordable workshop environment to rehearse their new material, and revive old favorites. The workshop designed is just that.
An evening of professional entertainers getting together to work on their material. Limited to 10 participants, you will have the opportunity to present your recent song selection and receive a meaningful and supportive critique - meeting you at your level, and bringing you to the next place - winning that audition.
Award-winning director Christopher M. Allport, and virtuoso pianist Aurelien Eulert will help you succeed and want to see you win! Feel free to work on your audition cuts, or a complete song. You will receive notes and direction and then have an opportunity to rehearse the notes. You will also learn an amazing amount from your peers.
This supportive class is open to all ages as long as you are on the professional track. Musical Theatre, Legit and Opera Styles are welcome. We promise an incredibly fulfilling evening of artistic sharing and growth.
An additional benefit of the workshop is that participants will be given priority casting considertation for upcoming musical and theatrical projects.
Please come prepared with the following:
1) 2 vocal selections 2) 3 copies of the sheet music for each selection in the correct key 3) have your selection memorized and ready to perform, so we can really work the details 4) voice recorder (iPhone, etc.) so you can record your work 5) pencil 6) notebook 7) open mind 8) open heart
Notes: Your selection should be from the standard broadway, standard opera, or standard jazz repertoire and an appropriate role for your voice type. We will NOT work original compositions or top-40 pieces in this class, as the goal of the class is to focus on standard rep. to win auditions.
This is a professional workshop and work and a fast pace. If you are not prepared with all of the tools and formats above, you will be an auditor in the class, and forfeit working with the accompanist.
Please arrive 10 minutes early. The workshop will begin promptly at 7pm and conclude promptly at 10pm.
